Charles W. (Chang) Reynolds was a teacher in the public schools of Pasadena, California who assembled the largest file of elephant biographies in America. He wrote many articles and one book on circus history. The majority of materials in the collection are the notes and photocopies of materials relating to his research. These include materials relating to specific circuses, correspondence with other circus historians, and numerous photographs primarily relating to various zoos and zoo animals.
